Grant Statue
This sculpture of Ulysses S. Grant was executed by Daniel Chester French, the sculptor of the Lincoln Memorial. Dedicated on the 77th anniversary of Grant's birth (April 27, 1899), President McKinley came for a military parade which preceded the unveiling. Thousands of Philadelphians turned out for the dedication of this statue.
